Job description:
As a Strategic Buyer you would be responsible for identifying and implementing cost-effective procurement strategies. Your primary goal will be to source high-quality materials, goods, and services at the best possible value.
A strategic buyer is responsible for identifying and sourcing goods and services that are essential to the operations of a company. You will work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure that the company’s purchasing needs are met in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
The job responsibilities of a strategic buyer include:
- Conducting market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities, pricing, and quality of products or services, preparation of detailed analyses, price analysis, cost breakdown (cost splitting), make or buy, procurement market, benchmarking.
- Professional strategic planning of plastic, metal, wood products, based on our purchasing strategy
- Precise selection and development of suppliers in the Balkan Region
- Analyzing procurement data to track spending, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support strategic decision-making.
- Strategic planning and implementing of measures to achieve cost savings.
The qualifications and skills required for a strategic buyer:
- A bachelor’s degree in business, technical sciences, or a related field, it is obligatory to have technical background.
- Proven experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in a similar industry.
- Fluent English language
- Strong negotiation and communication skills to effectively interact with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Proficiency in using procurement software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office applications, SAP R/3.
- Knowledge of procurement regulations and best practices, such as supplier diversity and sustainability.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accuracy and timeliness in procurement processes.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers based on trust, collaboration, and mutual benefit.
- Continuous learning mindset to stay updated with industry trends and advancements in procurement practices.
